As Christians, we often conflate being “nice” with being a good follower of Jesus, but the Bible reveals that true love is not about being pleasant or agreeable, but about selflessly seeking the highest good of others. By embracing the characteristics of hard conversations, vulnerability, and sacrifice, we can shed the facade of “nicety” and truly obey Christ’s greatest commandment to love one another.
