Son, I want to remind you that I am a covenant keeper. Many of my sons and daughters keep promises only if the other party fulfills their side of the promise. I fulfill my promise regardless of what you do because I said I would. My word is true and faithful. I told Abraham he would be the father of a great nation. That promise has been fulfilled. I told Joshua to honor the Israelites’ covenant agreement with the Gibeonites even though they were drawn into it through deceit (Josh. 9). I told Abraham to circumcise his child because it represented something very sacred to me (Gen. 17:10). Marriage is a prophetic picture of my Son’s relationship to his bride to the world. My Son would never leave his bride. Covenant is the way I have called you to walk. It means being faithful in the face of unfaithfulness. It means loving in the face of being persecuted. You are called to model this in your life. By doing this you will be my witness on earth.
O Lord, the great and awesome God who keeps His covenant of love with all who love him and obey His commands. Dan 9:4
This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised; and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you. Gen 17:10-12
